The Assembly Rooms Trust Dedham


Key objectives of the Trust


Trust objectives


1. For the celebration of Divine Service in accordance with the rites and ceremonies of the
Church of England as by Law established.
2. As a Class-Room Meeting-Room or Lecture-Room for Confirmation or Bible Classes or
for other religious instruction in accordance with the principles of the Church of England.
3. For any other objects ends or purposes having in view the spiritual intellectual moral or
physical wants of the people or for any other objects ends or purposes designed or promoted for the instruction or recreation of the people.


The established use of the Assembly Rooms as of 2020 is for meetings of groups such as Horticultural society, book club, Alpha sessions, WEA lectures and Guiding groups. The regular provision of classesmin dancing, singing, keep fit/Pilates, art and speech therapy. For entertainment by film club screenings, drama productions and fundraising events and for enhancement of social welfare Antique, Dolls House and Craft fairs, private social events, and uses as a Polling station. The Trustees will consider fairly any new use proposed.


Trust Board

Trustees


The Trustees shall be the Vicar and Church Wardens for the time being of the Parish of Dedham in the Diocese of Chelmsford. In addition two Trustees will be appointed who represent the regular users of the Assembly Rooms. These Trustees will act for a maximum term of three years.


Quorum


The Trustees shall be a quorum when two or one third, whichever is the greater, of the Trustees present at a meeting are entitled to vote 

Appointment of Officers.


The Chair of Trustees and clerk to the Trustees will be appointed at the Annual General Meeting. 

Reporting and Meetings

The Trustees must prepare for each financial year ending 31st December an annual report and financial accounts to be presented at the AGM and as required by the Charity Commission.


Meetings. 

The Trustees shall hold a minimum of two meetings in every calendar year and at such other times and in such places as they shall from time to time decide, and any Trustee may at any time convene a special meeting of the Trustees upon giving at least seven days’ notice to the other Trustees of the matters to be discussed
